Welcome!

The mission of SWIMfast is simple: to assist people in achieving their athletic and fitness goals through swimming. Whether you are a competitive swimmer, triathlete or fitness swimmer you will be provided with the tools necessary to improve your stroke or learn to swim. The results of swimming with SWIMfast are more than physical.

Within the past 10 years the number of learn to swim programs has increased in numbers. Whether the goal is to swim like a fish or slide through the water, they all have similar goals in mind; to get people swimming.

From that standpoint alone, it has been great for the sport of swimming. However, with many programs lacking the correct biomechanics of the strokes, a mish-mash of theories and practices has started appearing. Two of the bigger problems that I see on a regular basis include athletes spending hours on balance drills that virtually do nothing for their stroke. Doing a drill for the sake of doing a drill serves no purpose unless you know what the intended purpose. And lastly many swimmers have virtually no concept of how their arms and trunk work in conjunction to propel them through the water. So, although there are more people swimming, how they are swimming is the problem! Swimming is a highly technical sport and if done incorrectly, exposes to individuals to the possibility of developing injuries.

I started SWIMfast to fill a growing need for swim stroke analysis in Madison Wisconsin and the surrounding areas. I specialize in taking the biomechanics of swim strokes and breaking them down into manageable pieces for individuals to master. For change to occur and new neuromuscular sequences to be established and "memorized" takes on average 9 weeks. However, swimmers coming in to work with me see noticeable improvements much earlier than that. To learn how to swim or refine your stroke doesn't take a great deal of time. It isn't uncommon for individuals to begin with nothing and end with a smooth, strong stroke in as little as four sessions.

Take a look at the programs that I offer, read about the success of my athletes, and email me if you have any questions or would like to begin sessions.

Thanks for visiting!
