Years back, doctors told me to swim so that I would strengthen my back that I hurt as a competitive runner. I hated every minute of it. Today, I love swimming. Mark both taught me his sport and made me fall in love with it. Thanks to Mark's fun and insightful ways of teaching swimming, I managed to complete (and enjoy) the swim in the 2004 Ironman Wisconsin in 59 minutes - with which I was very pleased, given that "I still am a runner, not a swimmer - damn it!!".
